Bubblegum Crisis is set in Tokyo in 2040. At this time there are Artificially
intelligent robots called Boomers that do chores for humans. Boomers have the tendency to
occasionally go out of control and start destroying things. This is known as going "rogue".
The story begins as a girl named Lena has just moved to Tokyo. She learns of a crime fighting
group known as the Knight Sabers that fights rogue Boomers. She wants to join them and eventually
does. While the Knight Sabers fight to stop rogue Boomers, corporate forces are at work making
potentially catastrophic plans.
